Dashboard Tip: Quickly Closing a Widget

Normally, to close a widget in Dashboard, you would have to click on the “+” icon in the lower left corner of the screen, so that the close boxes of all of your widgets would become visible.

But sometimes that can be a pain. Especially if you just want to close one widget, turning what should be a one-click job into a three-click job. I’ve discovered a quicker way to close a widget quickly right in Dashboard. Just hold down the option key on your keyboard, and then mouse over a widget. The close box for that Widget becomes visible. Keep option held down as you click the close box. Poof. It’s closed.

Not very exciting, but it saves some time if you do a lot of opening and closing of widgets.
