Animated Cursors

Windows can be triggered into a looping crash-restart cycle with certain animated cursor files. — Not good.

Microsoft has acknowledged the problem. — Good.

Microsoft has released a patch to fix the problem. — Good.

The patch leaves many programs nonfunctional. — Not good.

You would think that with all the viruses and bugs that Microsoft has dealt with in the past, they would be experts on security patches. I guess that’s an area they overlooked when they were copying Mac OS X.
